Milk Test High as a FF: 4.5#

Myra is a very special doe to us—-in many ways. Not only is she beautiful and has the same sweet personality as her Dam (Redemption), but she seems to have the same milking capacity—-and an even better udder. All that is great, of course, and we are most thankful. But what endears me most to Myra is she stayed right by Red’s side when Red became so sick. The favor was returned, and when Myra went into labor—totally not understanding what the heck was happening to her body (using all of her vocal cords to express this travesty), Mama Red was right there with her. Redemption stood guard, peering over our shoulders and watched her grandchildren being born, making sure her own baby girl was ok. It was just a few hours after that Red went to Heaven, leaving a HUGE hole in our hearts. Although there won’t be another doe like Red, both Myra & Toni (Atonement) have her sweet spirit and beauty.
Myra recently had her first Milk Test and proved her mother proud…milking a whopping 4.5# and earning her Milk Stars in both registries (via 1Day Test). It’s always commendable, anytime a doe milks over four pounds, but especially so when its a First Freshener. The exciting part is Myra not only has Red’s capacity, but her udder is even better—-with longer, very milkable teats, lovely medial, height and although you can’t tell in the above photo, very nice lateral attachments. We are so very blessed to have our two Red and Oliver daughters, Myra & Toni, as well as their brother Exodus—-whose (very pretty) babies started arriving the Fall of 2018. The 4th sibling (O Blessed Redeemer—-aka Jane—-now lives with our dear friend Jessica Mather at Southern Grace Nigerian Goats)
