Some pages are fun to write—-some are bittersweet. This is one of those (the latter). Lil Red is definitely a favorite here bc she was orphaned when she was four months old. Her dam, My Redeemer Lives—an SG/Elite Oliver daughter was also a favorite. Myra was one of those FFs I was just giddy with excitement. You can see from the pix below as to why. Her first test showed us why—4.5# with one of the prettiest FF udders we’ve had here. And, such a sweet doe. Out of Red, one of our foundation does and does of my heart, and Myra was as well. The necropsy results said Myra had a fast growing/rare cancer. I still feel the gaping hole in my heart—-so Lil Red is all the more precious.
The pix below aren’t the best—bc—I just assumed we’d get even better in the summer, and certainly as a 2F. It makes you realize how little control we have and why its so important to have your heart right with the Lord and truly appreciate your loved ones.
Lil Red’s birth was also especially tender as she was born with her Gdam looking over Myra’s shoulder. Later that afternoon, Red—who had been battling cancer—- went on to Heaven. So naming this precious baby was an easy call—- a combination of both her dam (My Redeemer Lives) and granddam (Redemption), but she quickly became dubbed Lil Red..
This pretty doe represents a combination of some of the finest genetics we’ve been blessed with on this farm. SG/Elite Redemption VEEE90, has been 4x Breed Leader, multiple categories, setting a record for production and dam of multiple SG progeny. In fact, Lil Red’s pedigree is pretty spectacular, full of 90’s, record setting Dairy accomplishments, Top 10s, SG/Elites, and the majority have multiple GCHs, Finished Ch’s, including multiple National Champions. Her Sire, Hyssop Dip (1x GCH) is out of SGCH/ARMCH/PGCH Lost Valley Dipp’n Dots *M *DAR VEEE90, 9x GCH, 9x BOB, 1x BIS,  2x Best Udder and dam of a National Reserve JrGCH daughter. He’s by Asher who is a litter brother to SG Patience VVEE90. 6x Breed Leader, out of SG/Elite Charity. Charity is another of our Foundation Does, 3x GCH, 1x BIS, Top 10 Milker.
I’m excited about My Redemption—-and am most blessed she’s such a part of our heart.
