We were so blessed to have Augustine as our Senior Herd Sire. Not only does he have multiple National Grand & Reserve Champions (& Best Udder) in his immediate family, he also has BREED Leaders and record holders for Dairy Tests. Augustine's paternal dam-line is one of Lost Valley's BEST---in Serabi, Toriaza, and Foundation doe, Shatarr. A son of the legendary Kingwood, Augustine's sire (who died at age 3) is a full brother to Mercury Rising, the AGS Nat'l Champion Sr Buck...twice!!!! Their dam, Serabi was the BREED Leader in 2009 AGS 305 Day Test for all three categories, milking 1494# in 302 days. Her dam, Tory has produced 4 other Finished CHs which are also producers of champions (& winning at the National level).
Augustine's beautiful dam, Monica is twice Finished and has 2 GCH's in NDGA. As far as dairy qualities go, Monica excels---milking 4-5 lbs at her peak. Her daughter, Phoebe Buffet 2*M 2*D (Aug's litter sister), has also won 2 GCH's and 2 Rsv's. Augustine, also very successful, has won Best in Show, and is 1 GCH away from Finishing. Unfortunately, he has incurred a leg injury which has ended his show career.
Although it was a huge disappointment, Augustine has already begun to prove himself on a National level through his milking genetics. Lightly bred in 2010, his only two daughters-in-milk earned their AR status, one of which was BREED Leader in the nation for AGS 1Day Test in Protein and 4th in Butterfat. His next crop of does (2012) have won GCHs in the show ring, and are quickly on their way to earn Milk Stars and AR status. His babies have a lovely general appearance, and what we're consistently seeing from his progeny are the wide, open esutcheons and straight legs, regardless of the dam's. Although Augustine is no longer able to breed, he is living out his years here--definitely being LOVED---his sons & daughters have proven themselves in every area of accomplishment. His progeny include +*B, +*S sons, multiple Top 10 does in ADGA & AGS (multiple years), multiple Breed Leaders (also multiple years), GCH's, All-Americans, Superior Genetics, eight daughters milking 1000#+, including his last daughter, Comet--who milked over 1200# as a FF, and earned her Superior Genetics as well as ADGA Elite Doe.
