You’ve heard breeders say “I’m keeping that one” at birth. Its happened a few times for us over the years—-but Beloved was (by far) MOST definitely one we were going to retain. This doe is the combination of the very best we’ve had on our farm, First, I adore her sire’s dam SGCH Peridot—-an amazing doe in every category. Mac’s Paternal Gdam is SG/Elite Redemption who has not only been Breed Leader 4x, but has also produced 4 SG or SG/Elite sons & daughters.
Beloved’s dam, SG/Elite Tizrah (and her dam, Calista). Tiz is one of the sweetest, easiest to milk, most prolific, very beautiful does we’ve ever had. Unfortunately her scores do NOT accurately portray her true quality as she also is one of those who had the craziest things happen to her on the day of every appraisal.
However you can sure see how Tiz’s genetics have passed down to her daughters & sons. Even in the pictures, you can’t really see how lovely this young doe is. Clearly Tim thought so in her recent Classification—-and gave her the absolute highest possible score for a FF. The scores were in the 90’s across the board in General Appearance, Dairy Character, & Mammary System with her score being 88s is body capacity, which is normal for a FF.
Just as the Lord had other plans for Tiz (you can read it on her page):
I quickly recognized we had taken Beloved as far as we could——so, I made one of the hardest decisions ever. We bred this special doe and were most honored to send her to our dear friends, Tommy & Jessica Mather (Southern Grace Nigerians).
As soon as Beloved kidded and was able, Jess had Loagan show her. In her very first show, Beloved took GCH in BOTH rings and also won BIS.
Our prayers are that, Lord willing, this year might just be the year for Beloved to Finish by taking her 3rd GCH.
I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Or, more grateful that the Lord has blessed us so much with such a lovely, sweet-as-can-be doe.
