Joy is 100% an oops baby——that God so totally directed. In the fall, during a very strong rain storm, a gate was left open from the lil boys paddock. It wasn’t a concern, bc everyone knows goats HATE the rain. Especially young bucklings, snuggled in their little buck house. Imagine our “joy” (no pun intended) when we went to add hay to the back part of the doe barn (its still raining hard, mind you)—-and there were two very brave (aka determined) 6 month young boys were peacefully enjoying the alfalfa right along side the 22 dry does. We narrowed down the possibilities based on recorded heat cycles and luted about 10 does—obviously not Countess—-who much to our discovery had a silent heat that first year. Introducing: Joy of my Heart and her blue-eyed brother (wether), Jorge. And the only blue-eyed buck was Valor, who I had already sold but they had yet to pick up.

Thus, when you look at Joy’s pedigree—-your eyes get wide. FULL of SG’s, Elites, CHs, Leading & Top 10 (record setting) milkers, producers of SG’s, Elites, or Finished CHs, & almost every doe has an LA/Classification of 90 or above.
Joy has carried on her pedigree quality—-she milked 5.1# & 10.3%BF her first test!!! In addition, she’s a dream to milk!!! Not to mention, she was classified w an 89.5 for a FF—-which is usually just 89. Joy scored 93.3 for Style, length of bone, & femininity (in General Appearance), 90’s in feet legs, Angularity, Dairy Character, & Body Capacity; 88’s &89’s in her Mammary System.

Joy is a very sweet doe to be around, just like her mama & Maple—as well as Gdam Surprise, Virtue & Peridot. And I’m so grateful, not to mention humbled by God’s humor and the end result.
