We’ve been doing LA’s &/or Classifications since 2014. Over the years, we’ve worked extremely hard on improving udders and rumps—-believing both are vital & interdependent on the other. Its taken a long time, but I’m so pleased overall with our mammary & rump scores.
A few years ago we started hunting for bucks that could help with Shoulder Assembly. Most of our does had V’s and a few w VGs in SA (V in ADGA, VG in AGS) but IMO they were on the low end of a V or VG. I wanted Es or Ex’s—-without compromising Rump or Mammary scores. We had a few, but nothing consistent.

Finally this year we were so blessed to find a buck that was strong in all areas we wanted.
From our dear friends, Jessica & Tommy Mather (Southern Grace Nigerians in Ok), we brought this handsome little guy—Refiner’s Fire——he goes by Blaze!! (His litter sister, Liberty Belle showed this summer, taking a Rsv & won her Jr GCH!!!)

Blaze’s dam (Katrina) and the litter sister of Caliente, (Sugar)—-are both finished GCHs, but more importantly, both have Es for their Front End Assembly scores. Sugar’s full name is: Elite/SGCH Sugar n Spice 2*M VEEV89, 3x GCH, 1x BIS. (Elite is multiple times) Milk Test High: 6# (like all of our herds, the SGs and LA scores are pending).

In addition, Katrina is a FULL sister to 4 other CH/GCH siblings and 4 who LA’d with 90s
You can see that Blaze’s pedigree is loaded with Show and Dairy genetics. I love the Caesar Villa & Little Tots Estate “Greats” in this line (GCH Sugar Glider & SGCH Abutilon—-between the 2 have 14 CHs, 7 Best Udders, 17 BOBs!!) Our LTE doe, SG Allamanda was out of Sugar Glider & by CV Eric (as was the very lovely Rsv Natl CH doe J Nels Dumplin’). The double cross back to Buffalo Clover Valentino is a huge plus for me—-he line breeds wonderfully and has produced many outstanding Show & Dairy Nigerians. In fact, many of our best lines find their way to Valentino: Both SG/Elite Tiz’s dam (Calista), SG/Elite Tiqvah are both Valentino daughters. SGCH/Elite Isabella (Oliver’s dam) is a Gdaughter of Valentino.
These are all lines I love and we are so very blessed to have a buck whose pedigree is packed with. These lines cross great with the Rosasharn lines our does have—-so I’m really excited to see the upcoming babies. THANK YOU Jessica, Tommy, & Logan.
